Kurt Triest - Photographs of camel caravans with construction materials, Tel Aviv [1930s]

5 photographs of a caravan of camels carrying cargo on the beach of Tel Aviv and along the Yarkon - The cradle years of building the city of Tel Aviv. [1930s]. One photograph signed on his back with the ink stamp "K. Trieste Photo Studio". On the back of three of the photographs is written in pencil "Triest".

Kurt Trieste was born in Nuremberg, Germany, in 1907. He studied painting at the Academy of Art in Berlin. In the late 1920s he worked in photography and graphics for various German newspapers. At that time he published a book of photographs of circus spirits. In 1936 he immigrated to Eretz Israel illegally and settled in Tel Aviv. There, he served as the in-house photographer for the Habima Theater and opened a photography studio called "Photo-Tmuna", in collaboration with photographer Moshe Rosenthal.

Average size: 21x15 cm. general condition good.
