Popular Italian translation of the Guide du maréchal, originally printed in French in 1766 and illustrated by 12 large copper-engraved plates. The work was printed in Pinerolo, the cradle of world academic horse-riding since the 16th-century, and since 1848 it has been the seat of the Royal Military horse-riding School. 4to (255 x 195mm). Engraved titlepage, 12 folding plates (plate 5 and 6 printed on the same sheet). Slightly later calf spine, marbled boards, gilt titles on spine label and decorations on spine, marbled edges.
