LARGE JAPANESE SATSUMA-STYLE BOWL, MEIJI (1868-1912) PERIOD
Large Satsuma-style bowl decorated with figural motifs and a dense, multicolor brocade pattern and chrysanthemum flower design on the side of the body, base unmarked. The inner side of the bowl shows a Bodhisattva of compassion in the company of a scholar, a disciple of the Buddha, and three young boys. Measures 15 3/4 inches in diameter and 6 inches in height.
Condition: Good with surface wear and minor enamel loss in places.
