Grown for around 2 years in the black-lipped Pinctada maxima oyster in the warm waters of French Polynesia, this necklace of genuine Tahitian pearls is an elegant piece of jewellery. These large saltwater pearls have a naturally peacock green colour, with some aubergine and purple overtones visible on individual pearls. The necklace is a standard length of 46cm and is made with 29 round pearls that measure between 14. 2 and 16. 4mm in diameter, creating a statement with this luxuriuos rare size ! The pearls matched for this necklace have an excellent sharp lustre with some irregularities being visible on the surface of some pearls that do not detract from the elegance of the necklace. Individually knotted between each pearl for safety and comfort, the necklace is completed with a secure invisible clasp. One end pearl receives a fine quality screw and the other end pearl a bolt mechanism. The clasp easily functions by gently twisting it counter clockwise to unlock, and clockwise to lock.
