LARGE NAUTICAL DIORAMA IN DEEP SHADOWBOX
Turn-of-the-Century Fully Dimensional Ships in deep diorama of a busy harbor, including a three-mast sailing merchant ship, a two-mast white-hulled schooner and a steam pilot boat, mounted on a raked water bed, with canted sides, painted to resemble an isthmus with pines and a lighthouse, probably meant to be Maine, several ships on the horizon, dressed by a gold gesso frame, under the original old rippled glass, lift handles on ends, 28" x 48" x 19". Good condition. Later electric illumination, accessible from front. PROVENANCE: From the estate of Paul Brouillard, Castine, ME.
