LARGE PEWTER-MOUNTED J.P. THEWALT COBALT-BLUE GROUND STONEWARE STEIN AND A SIMILAR PITCHER German, late 19th/20th Century, the first with an impressed PT monogram, model no. 1088, various cyphers, the tapering cylindrical 3L vessel molded with a tavern scene of a maiden with two suitors, inscribed 'Schwere Wahl' (Hard Choice), after Eduard von Grutzner (1846-1925), h: 15 in.; the second, with impressed model no. 479, of baluster form, inscribed with a German phrase within a raised cartouche and floral surround, both enriched in gilt and edged with apricot luster borders, h: 14 3/4 in.
