Late 19th C. New York National Guard 69th Irish Brigade Officer Dress Uniform. (1) Dark blue & red fine wool, triple breasted coat. Shoulder scales with yellow fringe, bullion clover designs on the collar, and brass "69" buttons. Maker marked by Boylan & Co, New York on the interior tag. (1) Dark blue wool pillbox cap. Bullion "Kerry" badge with clover designs. Leather sweatband. Maker marked by Wharton & Sons, Dublin on the interior red cloth lining.
