Sublime old large vase with an opacified bottom of the famous "spring green" tinted in the mass, with hot enameled decoration of magnificent poppies in flower and in buds delicately painted by hand, surrounded by fine gold branches, accompanied by a large Arabesque frieze decorated with small silk-screened butterflies enhanced with gold all around the collar, in the purest Art Nouveau style of the period.
Remarkable work of high quality in the execution of the very thick enamelling with subtle nuances of color by this famous master glassmaker from the end of the 19th century.
Beautiful height of 265mm with a nice volume
Extremely rare proof with this decoration called “Forme Cylindre St-Denis” series perfectly referenced in the famous Catalog raisonné “Legras Verrier”
In very good condition for its great age, just note a few discreet small cooking defects/fairly common air bubbles trapped in the glass during blowing, which does not detract from the charm of this very beautiful and rare collector's item. the end of the 19th century this famous master glassmaker.
Proof numbered 2 under the base, sign of a special and restricted series.
