[ translate ]

Circa 1890 Cristallerie Legras&Cie / Montjoye in St Denis. France

Splendid important large "spring cone" vase in blown glass on pedestal with enameled decoration representing a magnificent Bonsai in flowers and buds accompanied by a large stylized frieze decorated with carnations all around the neck with curves and a very poetic in the purest art nouveau style of the time.

Remarkable high-quality work of hot enamelling by this famous master glassmaker from the end of the 19th century

Very nice height of 31cm with a nice volume.

Quite rare proof called "Printemps Japonisant" perfectly referenced and illustrated in the famous Legras catalog raisonné "Verrerie Artistique et Populaire Française" which devotes several illustrations to it.

François Théodore LEGRAS created this series of models with Japanese decoration at the end of the 19th century to meet the demand for this new fascination in Europe for Japan between 1880 and 1890, a model which was very successful at the Universal Exhibition in Paris at the end of the 19th century

The model presented here is one of the largest and most impressive in the series and therefore one of the most coveted by collectors who, in this very beautiful proof, has nothing to envy of the other great names in glassmaking from the end of the 19th century such as Émile Gallé or Daum Nancy.

In very good condition for its great age (more than 130 years!) With a nice trace of the pontil of the blower's cane cut with pliers under the base, a sign of old, high-quality craftsmanship on this magnificent piece of Legras collection from the end of the 19th century.

Provenance: Private Parisian family collection from the left bank in Paris

Very secure professional shipping guaranteed with protection and tailor-made packaging with tracking number and insurance
