Condition Report:
It has not been possible to examine the work out of its frame. The canvas is not lined. Examination under UV light reveals no evidence of retouching. There are a few faint stains in places, notably towards the centre of the left edge. There is a spot of varnish which appears to have yellowed to the model’s proper right shoulder. There are a few thin lines of stable craquelure in places. There is some frame abrasion associated with a few spots of golden residue along the extreme edges. This work is in overall very good condition and could benefit from a clean.
