Untitled work, painted in watercolor and acrylic on paper, by Leopoldo Richter. It was probably created around 1960.
The image was monogrammed in yellow acrylic paint at the bottom right by the artist: LR

Limited edition: 383rd of 2,000 copies.

Leopoldo Richter: Born in Lahr in 1896. During the 1st During World War II, the young artist was seriously wounded and was then sent back to Germany. There he met the painter Hans Thoma, who sparked his artistic interest. In 1928, the artist immigrated to Brazil and dedicated himself to insect research. A few years later he moved to Colombia, where he worked for a long time as a researcher for the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. In the following years, he traveled to areas of the Amazon and thus came into contact with indigenous peoples, who had a strong influence on his artistic work. Since the middle of the 20th century, he has held several exhibitions worldwide. Leopoldo Richter died in Colombia in 1984.
