[LINCOLN, Abraham (1809-1865)]. Strands of hair attributed to Abraham and Mary Todd Lincoln displayed with wood fragments from the scaffold used in the execution of the Lincoln conspirators and other relics.

8 x 6 in. display housed in riker mount containing: 1 strand of hair attributed as Abraham Lincoln's, approx. 1/2 in. long [left]. -- 1909 Lincoln cent [center]. -- 1 strand of hair attributed as Mary Todd Lincoln's, approx. 3/8 in. long [right]. With copy of images of Abraham and Mary Todd Lincoln and typed descriptive label furnished by Carroll J. Delery III. Accompanied by a photocopy of what is believed to be the original Christie's sales description for the lot from which the strands of the Lincoln hair offered here derived.

[With:] Additional strand of hair attributed as Lincoln's displayed under magnified case, as per notations on display furnished by Delery. -- 3 strands of hair attributed as Mary Todd Lincoln's displayed under magnified cases, as per notations on displays furnished by Delery. -- Modern plastic sleeve containing multiple strands of hair attributed as Mary Todd Lincoln's as per "Mary Lincoln" notation in ink furnished by Delery.

[With:] Multiple fragments of wood housed in plastic bags with modern notations, presumably in the hand of Carroll J. Delery III, attributing the wood as relic wood taken from the scaffold used to execute the Lincoln conspirators, secured as a souvenir by a soldier acting as a guard serving in the 1st US Veteran Volunteers.

[Also with:] 5 fragments of fabric, most approx. 2 x 2 in., or smaller, housed in modern box labeled "Sofa Fabric Lincoln's Couch" furnished by Delery.

No further documentation or certificate of authenticity accompanies the lot.
