German, ca. 1700, Mainz, artillery device.
Tip with rhombic cross-section, base with etched decoration: coat-of-arms of Lothar Franz von Schönborn, Archbishop-Elector of Mainz (1695-1729). Curved arms on both sides, ending in fuse holders designed as animal heads. Conical round socket, three of the four rings for attaching the fuse are missing. Langets, round shaft.

An exceptionally-rare Mainz linstock from the reign of the Archbishop-Elector Lothar Franz von Schönborn, which was used for firing cannons. Cf. Heinz Werner Lewerken: Kombinationswaffen des 15.-19. Jahrhunderts, 1989, p. 291, No. 191.
