Ivory handle, possibly whale ivory. Grip carved as the bust of a dog with inset glass eyes. One side of the elongated oblong throat with an engraved cracked ice design and relief-carved leaves and flowers surrounding a banner engraved with an illegible monogram. Other side undecorated. Silver collar marked "Sterling" and engraved with flourishes. Slender wood shaft with metal ferrule.

Condition Report: Generally well-preserved, with scattered faint age lines in ivory. Silver tarnished. Shaft with unobtrusive age cracks and possibly some tiny flecks of paint.The absence of a condition report does not imply an object is free of defects.
