LONG LA-TENE CELTIC IRON SWORD

Ca. 450-100 BC. La-Tene culture. A long iron sword with a pointed, bevelled blade, and a long tang for inserting a handle onto the blade. Iron weapons were an important part of La Tene culture, often appearing in warrior’s graves. Weapons such as this sword served as powerful reminders that authority rested in the hands of those who could earn it. Excellent condition. Mounted on a custom-made stand.
