LOT INCLUDING OLIVER WOLCOTT PAY ORDER FOR SUMMONING TOWNS TO THE CT SPECIAL ASSEMBLY APRIL 1775

[ translate ]

Lot consists of 9 items: (A) April 1775 signed pay order by Oliver Wolcott, signer of the Declaration of Independence, for Adonijah Strong, later a lieutenant, for “Summoning the representatives of the Towns of Cornwall, Sharon, Salisbury & Canaan to the Special Assembly.” This likely refers to the assembly called by the Governor for April 26 in response to Lexington and Concord. A significant document. (B-C) 1778 and 1779 army ration bills for Sanford Kingsbury of Rhode Island. (D) Clipped signature of John Landon. (E) 1780 CT pay voucher for Mr. Tibee Williams for service in the Connecticut Line. (F) abstract of pay for Capt. Rice’s company in Bullard’s regiment of Mass militia, dated Sudbury 1778. (G) pay receipt by 4 soldiers, Sudbury 1778. (H) 1785 signed pay order by New York Mayor James Duane, with engraving of Duane. (I) 1782 land sale document for a parcel of land in Rockingham County, New Hampshire signed by Edmund Sargent and Robert Rogers as witnesses. This seems unlikely to be the Robert Rogers of Rogers Rangers fame. CONDITION: Overall good to very good. The Woolcott document has one small hole far right, not affecting text. 5 JSA LOAs Paperwork: 5 JSA LOAs
