Lot contains: (A) German World War II Heer reissue M35 SD camouflage helmet with no visible markings as the original smooth apple green finish has been covered with the 1940 style dull rough dark gray-green paint. Helmet was worn for some time in its reissue rough paint before the camo was applied, as areas of wear are clearly visible. The gray-green finish is visible over approximately 50% of the helmet exterior, with the sprayed medium green camouflage present over the remaining 50%. Moderate amount of wear, freckling, and scattered marks, with traces of white and red paint. Heer decal is approximately 60%, and was applied over the gray-green finish, with some light overspray of the medium green camo. Some lacquer is still visible on the decal. Interior retains approximately 85% of its reissue rough finish, with dust, freckling, and wear. Reissue zinc liner band (no attempt was made to check the date) has light freckling the the normal patina of zinc, and the rivets are intact and undisturbed. Liner is intact, untouched, in a medium brown color, with heavy staining, and light rim edge wear. Original drawstring is present with a liner size "57" stamping. A chinstrap is attached with a steel buckle, an aluminum stud, as well as a replacement brass stud. The buckle side of the strap has a glue repair with a 2" piece of leather as a splice. Chinstrap is dry with heavy staining and wear, and it is unknow if it is original to the helmet. A copy of the 2007 eBay purchase is included. CONDITION: Overall very good to excellent. (B) Luftwaffe M43 field cap in blue-gray wool marked "1944", "0/0501/0015", in size "58". Both the eagle and cockade have been replaced, and are hand-applied in a manner not seen on untouched caps. Cap exterior has light wear, staining, and moth tracking, while the rayon lining has light wear, and heavy staining from being worn. CONDITION: Overall very good. WEZ Paperwork: Previous Listing
