Lot consists of: (A) "Letter from Home" by Mort Kunstler. Subject; The Army of Northern Virginia 1863 Confederate night camp. Number 266 of 1150 produced. Image size; 19 1/2" x 15 3/4" . Museum quality matted and framed to 25 1/2" x 20 3/4" Off set lithography and 100% rag with fade resistant inks. CONDITION: Very fine. (B) "His Supreme Moment" Subject; Lee's supreme moment after the Battle of Chancellorsville. Issue 399/950 in the year 2000. Image size 26 14" x 22". Museum quality matted and framed to 32 1/4" x 27". CONDITION: Very fine. In 1986, more than 200 Künstler artworks were published in the book "The American Spirit - The Paintings of Mort Künstler", with text by famed historian Henry Steele Commager. An updated edition of "The American Spirit" was published in 1994 by Rutledge Hill Press. "Images of the Civil War - The Paintings of Mort Künstler", with text by Pulitzer Prize winning author James McPherson, was published in 1992. "Gettysburg - The Paintings of Mort Künstler", also with text by James McPherson was published by Turner Publishing as a companion piece to the epic feature film and mini-series "Gettysburg". In 1993, a one-hour television special, entitled "Images of the Civil War - The Paintings of Mort Künstler", was shown on the A&E network. Both of these prints are out of print and very special attention was paid to the framing and matting. A great pair of limited prints from a master of Civil War images. Both items are accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. Condition: Dimensions: Largest Framed: 37" x 33".
