LOT OF 2: THIRD REICH RAILWAY AND POSTAL OFFICER VISOR

Lot contains: (A) Third Reich Railway officials visor cap in dark blue wool with light wear and soiling, with an undamaged black velvet center band and crimson piping. Gold gilt eagle and wreath, as well as the cockade, are original and originally applied with light wear. Blue and gold chin cord, as well as gold buttons, exhibit light wear. Black vulkanfibre visor with a brown underside, exhibit light wear. Brown oil cloth head lining exhibits moderate wear with two half inch holes, is maker marked to "Clemens Wagner, Braunschweig", has a celluloid sweatshield with three inches of edging missing, and has a paper tag with the size of "55" in the name slot. Black leather sweatband has an area of damage where the chin cord button has pushed through. CONDITION: Excellent overall. (B) Third Reich Postal Leader visor cap in a blue wool upper and center band, with light wear and soiling. Cap top is a black oil cloth with light crazing throughout, and there is a gold band at the top of the center band. Silver finish Tombak eagle retains 90% of its silver finish while the cockade retains 50%. Both appear to be original to the cap. Silver bullion chin cord with silver buttons are undamaged, and the black vulkanfibre visor with brown underside exhibit light age. Blue cotton twill lining has moderate staining, and there is a partial maker stamping still visible. Brown leather sweatband has moderate damage throughout. CONDITION: Very good to excellent.
