LOT OF 3: 19TH CENTURY UNITED STATES SWORDS.

(A) Eagle pommel officer's sword with a 28" curved blade etched with designs featuring a spread wing American eagle, foliate elements and panoply of arms. Carved bone grip, gilt brass eagle pommel, hilt cast with foliate elements. Guard cast with seated Native American flanked by an American eagle and patriotic elements. CONDITION: Guard retains much of its original gilt finish, bone grip with a few minor tight cracks. Blade with traces of bluing, etched elements retain much of their original gilt, remainder with bright areas mixed with dark staining and surface roughness. (B) Model 1860 navy cutlass marked on the ricasso "U.S.N. / D.R./ 1862, the reverse with light Ames mark. Grip retains about 60% leather, brass cup exhibits minor denting. Pommel stamped "BRIG N.Y.W.". CONDITION: Blade is mostly bright with areas of dark staining and light rust. (C) Model 1852 US Navy officer's sword with a 30" blade etched with standard navy motifs and partial W.H. Horstmann mark. Rayskin grip with wire wrap intact. Leather scabbard displays knotted rope design ring mounts and dolphin drag. CONDITION: Blade is bright with grey patches mixed with areas of dark staining. Rayskin grip shows moderate wear, brass fittings show about 20% gilt. Scabbard with strong leather and tight seam, fittings show traces of gilt.
