Lot contains: (A) German WWII Heer pith helmet constructed in a tan canvas with light age wear and staining. A tan cotton lining covers the interior and only exhibits light staining. Center is an undamaged red cotton. Leather sweatband band is in tan leather with light wear and stains, size stamped "56", with very light damage from an old inventory sticker. Also marked "B.K. 41 under the sweat band. Helmet trim is an olive leather with moderate to heavy flaking and cracking. Green leather chinstrap is attached with light to moderate edge wear, with brass fittings with patina. Both the National colors and Heer aluminum emblems appear to have been replaced and retain 90-95% of their painted finish. CONDITION: Excellent. (B) German WWII Heer pith helmet constructed in an olive green felt with light age wear and some moth damage. Center band has several dozen moth nips. A green felt lining covers the interior and only exhibits light staining with about approximately a dozen moth nips. Crown is in an undamaged red felt. Leather sweat band is in tan leather and undamaged, with a marking of "JHS" embossed on it, as well as "58-1942" stamped in black ink under the band. Helmet trim is an olive leather with light wear and damage. Green leather chinstrap is attached with very light wear, with steel fittings. Both the National colors and Heer aluminum emblems are originally attached and both retain 95+% of their painted finish. CONDITION: Near mint.
