A) 18th Century Continental hunting sword with unadorned slightly curved blade, brass lion pommel hilt with rococo designs on the grip and crossguard. CONDITION: Blade is mostly grey with areas of minor dark staining, grip has been painted gold. B) British 1822 Pattern officer's sword with unmarked unadorned blade, brass guard with Royal Cypher, ray skin grip with wire wrap. Leather scabbard exhibits brass mounts. CONDITION: Blade is mostly grey with small areas of light surface rust, brass hilt displays areas of green verdigris, losses to the ray skin at the pommel. Scabbard in very good condition with smooth leather and tight seams. C) British 1821 Pattern officer's sword of the Madras Artillery ricasso marked "H. Hart Pall Mall", etched with scrolls, crowned VR cypher, regimental badge, unit title and winged thunderbolts. Regulation steel three bar hilt, ray skin grip and wire wrap. Steel scabbard with 2 suspension rings. CONDITION: Blade is grey with areas of dark staining, counter guard bar is broken, ray skin exhibits wear and losses. D) British 1821 Pattern officer's sword of the 6th Carbiners with ricasso marked "H. Brown & Co 457 New Bond Street London", reverse with "Proved" mark. Blade is etched with scrolls, crowned VR cypher, regimental badge and unit title. Regulation 3 bar hilt, ray skin grip and wire wrap. Steel scabbard with 2 suspension rings. CONDITION: Blade is mostly grey with light etching, ray skin grip shows minor losses. Grey scabbard exhibits a shallow dent near the drag. E) British 1899 Pattern troopers sword, both ricassos with various proofs, spine dated January 1899. Steel cup guard and checkered leather grip. Steel scabbard with double ring mount. CONDITION: Sword appears to be bright under a coating of old lacquer, grips with moderate wear and dents. Scabbard exhibits a dark surface with areas of heavy pitting.
