LOT OF 9: 19TH CENTURY UNITED STATES MILITARY BAYONETS.

Lot consists of: (A) Model 1816 socket bayonet marked "US" on the blade. CONDITION: Mostly bright with areas of minor dark staining. (B) Model 1855 socket bayonet marked "US" on the blade. CONDITION: Excellent with a mostly bright original finish. (C) Model 1873 45/70 Trapdoor socket bayonet and scabbard with "US" rosette. CONDITION: Bayonet retains most of its original blued finish. Scabbard body is a mix of deep blue and brown finish with some very minor surface roughness. Leather belt loop / frog is solid but exhibits areas of crazing. (D) Model 1816 socket bayonet, unmarked. CONDITION: Exhibits surface rust throughout. (E) Model 1855 socket bayonet, missing locking ring screw. CONDITION: Heavily rusted. (F) Model 1873 45/70 Trapdoor socket bayonet and scabbard. Blade is marked "US". CONDITION: Bayonet is mostly smooth and grey with areas of minor pitting. Scabbard shows areas of bluing mixed with brown and surface roughness, missing belt loop / frog. (G) Model 1872 45/70 Trapdoor socket bayonet and scabbard. Blade marked "US". CONDITION: Bayonet is grey with areas of light pitting. Scabbard mostly brown with areas of surface roughness. (H) Model 1873 45/70 Trapdoor socket bayonet and scabbard. Blade marked "US". CONDITION: Bayonet blade is mostly light blue, rear of socket displays minor pitting. Scabbard body lacks finish and displays a shallow dent. Belt loop / frog is dry and broken. (I) Brass handle saber bayonet dated "1862" on the ricasso.
