LOT OF JAPANESE ORDER OF THE SACRED TREASURE MEDALS.

Lot consists of various examples of the Japanese Order of the Sacred Treasure medals which date from the World War II era through the post-war years. There are 4 7th and 8th class medals (2 appear to be 7th class due to remnants of gilding and 2 appear to be 8th class, lacking gilding). The 2 7th class are cased while the 8th class medals are not. There are 3 6th Class examples, 1 cased with rosette, and 1 missing the ribbon. Also included are 2 5th Class examples, each exhibiting faint traces of gold gilding. Lastly, there is a 2nd class with rays bent inward, which was commonly done in order so the award would not slide on a uniform. All medals exhibit varying patina with some soiling to ribbons. There is enamel loss to some of the medals, including the 2nd Class breast badge which is cracking in areas due to being bent. Cases exhibit blemishes consistent with handling wear. CONDITION: Good-very good.
