Footnote: Footnote: General Sir Bernard Charles Tolver Paget, GCB, DSO, MC (1887-1961) served in WWI and WWII, gaining the MC. in 1915, DSO. in 1918, Italian Silver medal for valour in 1917. He was also mentioned in dispatches several times. WWII saw the award of GCB. KCB. CB along with other foreign awards from USA. Poland. Belgium, Norway etc. He had a long-distinguished career in the British Army with various regiments and command posts across the world. The MC was - "For conspicuous coolness and energy throughout the campaign in France. At Railway Wood, during a bomb attack by the enemy, following on the explosion of a mine, he rendered invaluable service in getting up bombers and bombs and organizing working and wiring parties. His good services as Adjutant have been previously brought to notice." His service in India was Chief Instructor at the Staff College, at Quetta, British India (now the Command and Staff College in Pakistan), from 1932 to 1934. Paget commanded the 4th Quetta Infantry Brigade from 1936 to 1937. It was probably during this period he was given this seal, possibly as a leaving gift from fellow officers.
