According to Flint, "The adjacent ports of Hoboken and Weehawken on the Hudson River were important terminals for the extensive railroad lines and waterfront facilities that had made New Jersey one of the largest shipping centers in the country by the late twenties. This particular scene, although viewed from Hoboken, is actually of the railroad yards of Weehawken on the narrow strip of river front that borders Hoboken." [Flint, p. 57]
