Born in France, Adolph Rinck studied at the École des Beaux Arts in Paris before moving to New Orleans in the 1840s, where he painted portraits of the city's elite.
Condition Report: Not relined. Soiled. Craqueluer, Minor scattered areas of paint loss. Frame as is. UV light reveals heavy varnish that makes it difficult to determine restorations.
