Provenance: from the collection of Martin Bolstad (1892 – 1956). The Consul General in Shanghai from December 1948 to 1956, he held many other senior posts in the Foreign Service including Consul in New York and Consul General in Bombay. He received numerous medals and distinctions for his service including Knight of St. Olav’s Order handed him by the King of Norway.
