LUCKY'S MEN'S SHOP PAINTED METAL NEON.

DST. Fantastic C.1950's Lucky's Men's Shop double-sided painted metal neon sign. Sign was purportedly owed by the famous mobster Lucky Luciano, which were known to hang in front of his men's clothing stores in Chicago and New York. These stores were know as fronts for illicit gambling houses, as portrayed in movies like "The sting". This amazing part of early American history was in a private collection since the mid 80"s. A rare opportunity to own this fantastic cross category piece of advertising. CONDITION: Side 1, sign has fair color and shine with significant surface stains, as well as paint loss on the outer edge. Neon is in working order on both sides, and lights red and blue (7.25). Side 2, sign has fair color and minimal gloss. Sign has areas of paint loss, as well as surface stains (7.75). The can is in excellent structural condition, with no rust or rot.
