LUFTWAFFE DAGGER, SECOND MODEL WITH HANGERS AND PORTEPEE
Very nice second model Luftwaffe dagger, 10 in. blade and 15 in. overall. Features a finely detailed round pommel nut with swastika, a tightly wire wrapped grip which has aged to an appealing amber color, and a crossguard in the shape of a Luftwaffe eagle. Maker marked on the ricasso by Eickhorn, Solingen. Housed within pebbled scabbard, oxidation not affecting the bands with the two suspension rings. Fine condition, offered with the original Luftwaffe portepee comprised of silver braided wire, 11.5 in. long, in very fine condition, and original deluxe dagger hangers, 10 in. long overall, nicely detailed with wire embroidery to the straps and oak leaf designs to the fittings, snaps operational. RZM marked ‘U.E. 10'. Also fine condition.
