LYNN CHADWICK, R.A.
1914-2003
ELONGATED FIGURE

signed and dated 68
ink on paper
65 by 50cm.; 25½ by 19¾in.

Condition Report:
The sheet is secured to the mount with two adhesive tabs in the upper corners. The right edge of the sheet is slightly unevenly cut. The extreme lower left corner has been slightly folded over and there is a loss to the sheet. There are a number of tiny tears to the extreme edges of the sheet, notably along the upper edge, where there are a couple of patched nicks, in particular one 7cm vertical tear. Along the upper edge there is a fine line of supportive tape which is holding the torn sections together. There are a small number of further instances of tiny nicks being patched with tape at each edge. Most of these areas are not visible in the present mount, however one piece of adhesive tape has stained the sheet and a small area of staining is evident. The sheet is very slightly cockled around the area which the Artist has worked, and is in keeping with the materials and the Artist's working methods. There are some further tiny creases and scuffs to the sheet, including a series of scratches in the upper right quadrant. There is some mount staining to the sheet, not visible in the current presentation. There is some light surface dirt and studio matter. Subject to the above the work appears to be in good overall condition.

The sheet is window mounted and held behind glass in a simple wooden frame.
