(small early repairs to verso), 63 double-page and/or folding maps and charts, and 10 single page maps (one or two spots). Bound in contemporary French calf-backed marbled paper boards (backstrip perished, shaken).
The fine Atlas to accompany La Harpe's epic "Abrege de l'Histoire Generale des Voyages" published in 32 volumes between 1780 and 1801. The maps and charts, many by Jacques Nicolas Bellin (1736-1803), cover all regions of the globe, and include maps to accompany Cook's voyages, South Africa, Japan, and many maps depicting North America.
