1877 - 1968
La Tour Eiffel

oil on canvas
46 by 55cm., 18⅛ by 21⅝ in.
Framed: 65.5 by 74.5cm., 25¾ by 29⅜ in.
Painted in 1904.

This work will be included in the forthcoming van Dongen Digital Catalogue Raisonné, currently being prepared under the sponsorship of the Wildenstein Plattner Institute, Inc.

Condition Report:
The canvas is not lined. UV examination reveals a small spot of retouching to the centre of the extreme right edge, a small spot to the centre of the Eiffel Tower, and two small spots to the extreme upper edge, one of which relates to a pin-sized hole. There are some fine lines of craquelure in places, some of which correspond to the vertical stretcher-bar. There is some minor wear to parts of the extreme edges and the canvas weave is fairly prominent in parts of the sky. This work is in overall good condition.
