You are bidding on a very fine and rare old 4/4 violin, labeled Ernesto Pevere allievo di Ettore Soffritti fecit in Ferrara l' anno 1944.
The instrument remains in good ready to play condition with no cracks or repairs. The whole length of the violin is 587 mm and the back 357 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 166 mm; middle bouts: 113 mm; lower bouts: 204 mm.
Materials: very nice two pieces narrow flamed maple back and nice high to medium grained spruce top. Golden-brown-reddish varnish. Rosewood set up. New strings.
