A very fine antique 4/4 violin, labeled Ferdinandus Gagliano filius Nicolai fecit Neap. 1786. The instrument is in ready to play condition with tears, wears, but no cracks, new ebony pegs, new master made bridge and new strings. The violin has an excellent medium grained spruce of the top and one piece back of softly flamed maple with matched sides, original baroque neck and scroll. Rich golden amber varnish shows an amazing wooden choice. The whole length of the violin is 59 cm and the back 35,5 cm. The total length of the violin is 585 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 163 mm; middle bouts: 111 mm; lower bouts: 202 mm. Full size. The sound is very sweet, rich, powerful, suitable for soloist. Shipping by DHL or Fed.
