Mixed Media Relief Sculpture by Laddie John Dill (American, b. 1943), Untitled, 1977. This piece is a mixed media abstract composition featuring various geometric and geologic forms in muted tones of grey, black, tan, and white. Made from a hard "concrete" composite and areas of glass-like resin. It measures approximately 85" x 60" x 3". Signed and dated verso "Laddie John Dill 1977". Labels on the verso include: (1) Butterfield & Butterfield, San Francisco, Contract #NVL04, Hutchinson, August 31/99, Art Dept., Art 386; (2) LD3. The sculpture has a crack across the lower left quadrant with broken corner. This item originates from the estate of John A. Williams, a distinguished philanthropist and renowned collector. Mr. Williams and his partner Dewitt Hart were influential members of San Francisco's art society and were celebrated for their discerning taste in modern, ethnographic, and fine art. Over the years, they hosted numerous exhibitions in their home, showcasing their prestigious collection to appreciative audiences. All proceeds of items from this estate benefit the Hart Williams Rainbow Fund, a nonprofit working with the LGBTQIA+ community in the San Francisco Bay Area.
