Information about the work.

Ladislas Kijno, a major artist of the informal painting movement, profoundly marked the artistic landscape of the 20th century with his innovative vision and his bold creative approach. Informal painting is characterized by the desire to break with the influence of cubism and surrealism and its pictorial principles which are form, tonal harmony, balance, proportions, unitary composition and centralized structuring. painting is therefore unstructured and the works are often produced in the moment, with an element of improvisation.

Born in 1921 in Warsaw, Poland, Kijno quickly established himself as one of the emblematic figures of this artistic movement which pushed the traditional limits of painting, thus freeing artistic expression from all formal constraints. Through his work, Kijno has explored the boundaries of abstraction, merging emotion and spontaneity to create works of profound originality. His commitment to informal painting has helped redefine the nature of visual art, while sparking passionate debates about the meaning and scope of abstraction in contemporary art.

Ladislas Kijno's inspirations are Alberto Burri, Antoni tàpies, Mark Rothko, Willem de Kooning, Jean-Paul Riopelle, Georges Mathieu
Pierre Soulages.
