Lady Gaga's Stage-Worn Born This Way-Era Acrylic

[ translate ]

Lady Gaga's stage-worn acrylic fingernail from the Born This Way era, from her Robin Hood Foundation gala fundraising concert on May 9, 2011. The intact bright red acrylic fingernail has a glued-on gold diamond cross design with a black center, and adhesive residue to the underside; it broke off during the performance as she played the piano and was recovered by a stagehand after the show. In fine condition. Accompanied by a detailed letter of provenance, in part: "Enclosed is the finger nail of Lady Gaga, which she broke and lost while performing at the Robin Hood Foundation Gala in May of 2011. My father worked as electrical installer at the Javits Center in NYC for some time; setting up/taking down all the lights for any event…During the Robin Hood Foundation Gala, Lady Gaga broke her middle finger nail playing Americano on the piano and, according to my dad, flipped everyone off to show the crowd. After the show he checked the piano and, low and behold, found a fully intact acrylic nail. Bright red with a goldish cross design glued on…He wrapped it in a paper towel, stuffed it in an envelope, and brought it home to me." The missing fingernail is apparent in photographs of Lady Gaga taken during the show, and she is also seen wearing this style in her 2011 commercial for Google Chrome. A spectacular stage-worn piece from the pop legend, who remains at the height of her fame and popularity today.
