[ translate ]

Splendid and rare vintage pair of table lamps (abat-jour) dating from the mid-20th century (roughly the 1950s/1960s) , of refined Italian craftsmanship. The central stems, characterized by an elegant and classical line, are made of turned natural green onyx with beautiful warm and unique veining for each piece. All metal finishes (the circular stepped base, the decorative collars and the upper reggivetro bezel) are in solid 800 silver, finely chased and worked with geometric motifs, fluting, and leaf details. The upper bezel features the decorative shaped arms originally intended to support dome-shaped glass lampshades. Provenance of excellence: The lamps bear under the blue velvet base the original paper label from the historic exclusive jewelry/silverware shop “Ugo Ghiraldin” of Padua (Via S. Francesco 38) , active since 1950. The old five-digit phone number on the sticker certifies its era. Hallmarks and marks: Clearly visible on the upper bezel are the Italian silver hallmarks: the “800” stamp enclosed in an oval (metal purity) and the manufacturer’s polygonal mark. Technical details and measurements: Overall height: 25 cm External diameter of the upper silver bezel: 13 cm Total weight: 621 grams per lamp (about 1. 25 kg total for the pair) . Weight of the detachable silver portion alone: The upper silver section of a single lamp weighs 128 grams (256 grams total for the two upper bezels) . Electrical system: Original period wiring perfectly preserved and functional, equipped with a transparent cord, two-pin flat plug, and a distinctive ogival tortoiseshell-veined switch. Bulbs included. Conditions: Excellent vintage condition. The onyx is intact, free from runs or deep cracks. The silver shows a beautiful natural patina of age, polishable to a mirror finish if desired. Glass shades not included.
