Lancia - Aurelia B20 GT Series 4 - 1954

Lancia Aurelia B20 GT serie 4 in very good condition. Designed by Vittorio Jano, the Lancia Aurelia was truly revolutionary; it combined a high level of performance and comfort in a compact and elegant body. First available in 1950 as the Berlina B10, joined in 1951 by the B20 GT coupe, the Aurelia was an immediate success. Originating from the idea of Lancia engineer Francesco de Virgilio, the Aurelia is considered the first production car with a V6 engine. Its design was characterized by a transmission with gearbox attached to the rear axle, a four-wheel independent suspension, radial tires and very sporty specifications for its time. The elegant B20 GT was unveiled in 1951, and that same year it came second at the Mille Miglia before claiming its class victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. A hat-trick at the Targa Florio 1952 was followed by victory at the Liège-Rome-Li rally in 1953, which was more than enough to ensure the Aurelia's status as a top-class sportswoman. The 4 Series is fitted with the Dion removal and the engine is a most desirable 2. 5 V6 with 118hp. The vehicle was fully restored in 2008. The engine starts right off with a superb V6 sound. Recent repairs have been made (overhaul of the suspensions, oil change and lubrication, braking) . The seller has been in possession of this vehicle for over 15 years. Vehicle visit possible. Delivery possible on estimate throughout Europe. Can be seen in Val au Perche, France.
