HISTORY/OVERVIEW
The Land Rover "Half Ton" or "Lightweight" was a special version of the Series 2 Land Rover 88 issued to the British Army. The low weight allowed it to be airborne. The transport class fell under 0. 51 tons, hence the name "Half Ton". Equipped with selectable all-wheel drive, reduced gears and seven seats. A little curiosity; the iron radiator grill was dismantled and used as a barbecue grill! This example was civilized in 1978 and registered for road use with a normal registration document

EXTERNAL
the bodywork is original from the factory, measured with a feeler gauge which showed no accidents. The paintwork is in the color "Limestone beige" and has normal signs of use visible in the photos.

The underbody and chassis are preserved and original, they have not been recently restored and layers of general anti-noise sealant have been applied over time (see photo) . However, the car is roadworthy, the last technical inspection was passed (inspection) in April 2024, valid until April 2026.

INTERNAL
The interior shows general signs of wear but is complete and usable, the dashboard has all the instruments, the rear benches are present, the soft top was installed a few years ago and has no tears.

MECHANICS
Mechanically the car has the original 237 engine as per the booklet and works well, starts easily. The gearbox engages all gears correctly, the tires are old.
