Landseer - A Victorian sterling silver card case Birmingham 1873 by Frederick Marson Of rectangular form with rounded sides, with a hinged lid. One side engraved with a scene of a saddled horse with dogs in a stable, from “Favourites, the Property of H.R.H. Prince George of Cambridge” 1834/35 by Sir Edwin Landseer (1802-73), within an arched surround, reserved with stylised foliage edged with a geometric border. The front with an elliptical cartouche engraved with initials IB in cypher, all reserved the same. The bezel engraved for the Scottish retailer “Mackay Cunningham and Co, Edinburgh”. Full marked to the bezel, the lid with duty mark only. Length – 9.9 cm / 3.9 inches Weight – 139 grams / 4.47 ozt
