Lapis Free-Form Sculpture Afghanistan This striking offering consists of semi-precious Lapis lazuli which has been cut and polished to highlight the coveted electric blue hue so characteristic of the prized material. The sculpture features an organic, nearly pyramidal, shape and an undulating form, adding drama to the highly dimensional object. There are flowing veins of white Calcite and brassy Pyrite to add contrast and depth to the overall presentation of the "stacked" material. The layered piece has been polished over its entirety and has a flat bottom for easy installation. The unique lapidary art form is striking and ready to be displayed for maximal impact without need of a base.
