Comprising: a brooch composed of a fan-shaped carved lapis lazuli enhanced with polished turquoise and circular- and single-cut diamonds, signed Cartier, detachable pendant fitting; and a necklace composed of carved turquoise beads spaced by rondelles set with brilliant-cut diamonds, length approximately 460mm.
Condition Report:
Brooch signed CARTIER. Detachable pendant fitting and unrelated turquoise bead necklace added later. Lapis lazuli slightly violetish blue of medium saturation, pyrite flecks, chips, surface abrasions. Polished turquoise greenish blue of medium strong saturation, some matrix visible to the reverse, one turquoise slightly discoloured. Turquoise beads strongly greenish blue of medium saturation, matrix, cavities and discoloured cavities. Diamonds on brooch estimated to weigh a total of approximately 1.00 - 1.50 carats, on average I-J colour, VS-SI clarity, as gauged and graded in the mount. Remaining diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 1.50 - 2.00 carats, on average I-J colour, VS clarity, as gauged and graded in the mount. Scratching to the metal consistent with age and wear. In good condition. Brooch measuring approximately 35 x 28mm. Total gross weight approximately 94 grams.
