European, ca. mid/late 20th century CE. A large crossbow with a mahogany colored wooden body, metal bow draped in cow hide and bound with animal tendon, a string made of cow tendon, and a brass trigger and aiming mechanisms. May have served as a toy or theatrical prop. Size: 32.75" L x 27.875" W x 4" H (83.2 cm x 70.8 cm x 10.2 cm)

Provenance: ex Estate of Eldert Bontekoe, Pegasi Numismatics, Ann Arbor, Michigan USA acquired before 2000
