Large Antique Chinese Limestone Guan Yin
DESCRIPTION: Limestone sculpture depicting a haloed Guan Yin standing on a double lotus throne wearing a flowing headdress and making the refuge-granting gesture with her right hand and the boon granting gesture with her left hand. Figure sports a long, flowing robe and beaded jewelry and is finished with gilt skin. Sculpture appears to have been fashioned based on a separate deteriorating stone sculpture as evidenced by the indentation in halo.
