Engraved map, hand-colored in outline. Printed on 11 sheets joined together. 127x205 cm (50x8") plus scales for estimating distances attached at bottom; mounted on linen and sectioned for folding, in old pastepaper boards slipcase of French manufacture.

A very nice example of the important and highly influential chart of the world which was constantly evolving as new information was presented to Arrowsmith. The issue [Stevens-Tree 90 (f)] with imprint changed to No. 24 Rathbone Place, and with Van Dieman's land disconnected from the mainland, a feature that was in an overlay on the preceding issue. With armorial bookplate on slipcase, "Ex Libris M.A. Principis Burghesii."
Condition Report: Slipcase with a bit of rubbing, wear at extremities; map slightly toned, near fine.
