An oil on canvas abstract work by the flamboyant Brother Lavrans Nielsen (American, Kentucky, 20th century). Nielsen was a Brooklyn born painter who lived and worked at the famous Gethsemani Monastery. He had a single one-man show at Swearingen-Byck gallery, Louisville, in 1975, and this work bears the gallery label, though is dated 1976. Signed and dated l.r.; 48" x 36" (sight).
