Title: Large Chinese Crackle Ware Vase 19th Century
Size: 9” (22.9 cm) tall x 5 ½Â” (14.0 cm) diameter.
9" tall baluster form Chinese crackle ware vase that has an accomplished, well controlled glaze. The crazing is small and fairly uniform. A porcelain hand thrown vase has been covered with a thick glaze that that when fired formed a crazed glaze finish. The finish is shiny with small black lines separating the white glaze. The rolled rim fades to white in the interior. The foot is cut, flat and unglazed. The base is glazed. MEASUREMENTS 9” (22.9 cm) tall x 5 ½Â” (14.0 cm) diameter. Weighs 2 lb 10.0 oz (1195 g) CONDITION The vase has no hairline cracks, chips, or breaks. The base has spider web cracks in the glaze. The cracks do not appear to be in the porcelain itself and do not penetrate into the interior. The glaze has small pimples that are prevalent on the mid part of the vase. The glaze is still shiny and bright. A beautiful, accomplished vase showing off the skill of the potter with form and glaze. A rich looking vase to add to a collection or add substance to your home.
