Large Chinese Han Terracotta Hu
Very large Hu shape vessel with intact lid in the style seen in the Western Han dynasty (206 BCE - 9 CE). Very well formed and painted overall in the style of the period with red, black, ochre, green, pink, and white pigment/slip. Molded masks of low relief applied on the top of the body below the shoulder. Ring handles are missing. Areas of possible restoration of the surface.
